Often times, I hear that I am just too tired to exercise or that due to the pain, nausea, etc. It is also noted that meeting less than the optimal guidelines may result in aa greater disease risk. Now, the information as stated above is refering to younger survivors, I personally feel that this information hits all ages of survivors and can be adjusted to age. The bottom line is regardless of the circumstances, physical activity does improve you mentally and physically. I suggest a buddy system to get you going and motivated. There are programs out there that regardless of your level of ability that the training programs help to improve your status and get you to a more physical level. I am aware of programs for specific types of cancer and exercise programs that are available. Many exercise facilities also have programming and pricing to meet your specific needs. Individual coaching can be priceless and I did at one point in my life have a personal trainer. Having reviewed some areas of study in physical activity has reinforced in my mind that not only do I have to get my patients going but also myself.
I can no longer talk the talk and not walk the walk, so lets get moving
