I did just that last week, I got up close and personal with my healthcare team. Now before you go jumping to conclusions, all seems well and although I am having many appointments for follow up, so far all looks ok. Being dictated by appointments is something I truly appreciate as I remember how every moment during treatment felt like one more appointment and it was so frustrating to not have control of your own life. Well, I had a few quirks in my system last week and spent some time reconnecting with my healthcare team. Now, I will say I am a nurse and a rather strong willed person but I will do what is needed at the time but I do feel that I should be allowed a voice and I am much more compliant when I know when, where, why and how. We should all be active participants in our care and then be able to make informed choices. No one likes to be pushed into a decision they don't understand or want to do. I love being from a small town and having people I know and play and work with, taking care of me. I take care of their families just like they are my own and hopefully the same comes back to me. Be sure you are a part of your team and ask questions but also listen and make informed choices and decisions. You want to establish a great rapport from the beginning and you are an active part of the team. A few more tests and I am back in the running. Sorry for the inconsistency lately, lots coming up to share with you in the near future. Thanks for following and as always, Make it a great day! S
