RELAY FOR LIFE

Well, I am sure you have figured out where I will be this weekend. Yes, I will be at Relay for Life between guests in for a wedding and other commitments but it is important for me to help with this great event. It was the American Cancer Society that helped me put on the Breast Cancer Seminar this past  spring, it is the American Cancer Society that supports the Look Good , Feel Better Program for all women going through treatment , and it is the American Cancer Society that helps with gas mileage, wigs and more for all our patients. I often go to: Cancer.org to find education materials and further understanding of what is new in the fight against cancer.   So, opening ceremonies start at 11:00 AM this Saturday morning and will have a day of fun activities . The evening will bring the survival reception at 5 pm and the survivor lap at 6 and every year I say I am not going to do it and every year I do and I am always so moved that after approximately 10 steps into it, I am crying and continue to cry and hug for the whole lape. There is the Luminaria Ceremony at 9 and that will be candles around the tract in honor of and in memory of those that have had or have cancer. Activities continue on through the night into the morning and the Closing starting at 10:30 and finishing with closing ceremonies at 11 am on Sunday. Please take a moment and come out to the Pioner Steam and Gas Engine Society Grounds right  at the 79 exit for Saegertown. Bring you wallet as there are lots of fun things that teams have worked and made to sell to raise monies for The American Cancer Society.  See you there and get your walking shoes on, I believe in walking and talking and I can do both ( although some might say otherwise )   ;}  Making it a great day!
