Well, yesterday I took a vacation day but far from a vacation in my estimation. I had the wonderful opportunity of having a colonoscopy done. Now, I always knew that the prep was not something great to do and keeps people from having this test done but I will say it wasn't as bad as I remembered but still wasn't great and having to do clear liquids for the day before and then the wonderful prep, the test part of it all was a piece of cake. I will say I am poohed out, (haha- sorry) and I continued to have grumblings and rumblings last night, at least I started back on food. I had hoped to have some fun after the test and maybe do some shopping or get out and enjoy my "Vacation Day", but to be honest, I was out of steam. Hopefully my next vacation will be better. I needed some small intervention that medicine should cover and I once again felt I dodged a bullet after having had breast cancer. You can't help but wonder if the next test will be ok when you are going through things but you must keep positive and continue to do your routine screenings. Today I am eating like a pig which is quite amusing as I have enough padding to take me more than a couple days through if I wasn't eating. I often look at survivor shows and think I would probably be very mean with the deficit of food and sleep and no way would I want someone filming my not so great other side. So the moral of this story is- get your screenings done. A little inconvenience may in fact help with a fix or otherwise be proactive in your own care. It is kind of like an inspection of your car and then you get the sticker till the next time you have to do it again. Well, I am now going to sit down and eat my scrambled eggs, sausage, cheesy hash browns and wheat toast with apple butter and iced tea. Wish you could join me! Making it a great day! Sue
