Love, yes love, S
So where is your heart this Valentine's Day? This can be an extremely lonely time if you do not have a super special someone in your life but you are not alone. You are loved and among a sea of people (people who do care), you are important. If you do have that someone special, you have the opportunity of showing them you care in fun and different ways. There is alot of hype over this holiday and it has become a commercial and expectations can be unrealistic. Romance, love, and appreciation is not just one day but should be all year long. Make the day special for others because isn't that what it is all about? My daughter, is home baking away for Susan G. Komen Foundation. It was my brainy idea to do Valentine Day Cookies and I enlisted her time and skills. I took orders from work and she is making the cookies. My house has Valentine Sugar Cookies everywhere and flour and sugar and eggs and red food coloring and icing everywhere.... and I do mean everywhere! She has done an amazing job and although she is waiting to become employed as an elementary teacher, she may have found a second job as a baker. They are amazing, beautiful cookies and the smiles they have brought is priceless. This girl ( I guess I should say young woman) has outdone herself and I am so proud of her. Not once has she complained about how many need done or how long it is taking or if someone orders more after their initial order is in. She is a SWEETHEART! She is making it special for others and in turn, for a great cause. So my advice to you, it isn't all about the chocolates, flowers and cards, it is about showing someone that you care. Seize the moment- I love random acts of kindness and love. In the end it is the best medicine around and you will gain far more by making the day special for someone else in whatever little way you can. Put that dime or quarter in someone's meter that is about to run out, call someone you need to reconnect with, visit someone in a nursing home or hospital. You could shovel your neighbors drive, do something silly to make another laugh and MAKE IT A GOOD DAY!
