What motivates me to get up and face each day with all the challenges (as we all are facing our own challenges) and maybe not as extreme challenges as you are but we all have them! Well first, my bladder motivates me, I am at that age where it is a timely need to get up(ok all joking aside) second, my dogs motivate me as their bladders are calling as well(Now, all joking aside). What I am going to do today known and unknown and my family and their needs as well is what motivates me! This Easter I spent the weekend at one of my son's houses with his lovely wife and a 2 1/2 year old granddaughter and a almost 6 week old newborn granddaughter.
On our second night there (pre-Easter) the excitement and wonder of a 2 1/2 year old and the anticipation of the Easter Bunny was heaped in anticipation. On Sunday morning this little girl woke up and turned to me and said, JESUS SAVES! I looked at her in wonderment and she said it again. Then she said, "But he didn't heal me". With that, I asked her if she was broken and she said she hurt her head but he didn't heal her. I must say, I was boggled. A little two + year old girl was off to enjoy the day and grandma sat in just awe of this little child. We attended church and about 15 minutes from the end of the service, this little gal got a little antsy and off Daddy took her to the nursery. The sermon was being piped into the nursery and as they walked in, my granddaughter looked at her Daddy and said," Daddy, God is talking to us!" Upon hearing that story I really lost it and realized that those lovely innocent thoughts and words had more impact on me than anything else during the Easter season. We often hear - out of the mouth of babes, but it was literally out of the mouth of babes.
That just pure joy and excitement and honesty and love, are what motivate me and always will from kids to grandkids and all around me. I love to help people and I love to be included and part of the group and needed and just the acceptance and understanding that God is talking to me. Those little thoughts that help me go the extra mile and the unspoken thank you's on peoples faces that you have helped are all I need to motivate me. How can anyone solely focus on themselves when there are so many that need you to help them? Yup, I will get up tomorrow and say my prayer and think of my kids and grandkids and smile a little with the often stories I hear and the knowing that there is someone out there that needs me... that is what motivates me. Good morning all, make it your good day and someone else's. S
