PS, I have a son that although he doesn't know it, is motivating to get moving! GO BEAGS!
How many times do we have to hear it before we decide that exercise should become as routine as brushing your teeth? Yes, I will also, I am learning to practice what I preach. Study after study supplies the same emphasis, Exercise even for the patient going through treatment is vital. How say you? Yes, it is vital as exercise improves fatigue! What, say that again. I am tired so I need to exercise- YES! It also improves depression, anxiety, self-esteem, happiness, and the quality of life. Now if you heard those claims for a pill, you would be buying it hook, line and sinker but because this is something you have to do for at least 150 minutes a week even in as little as 10 minute intervals spread out for the week, it will help. Yup, I said it, it helps! You should also be doing some muscle strengthening. Now this is not a revelation but when does the light bulb go on. How tough is it? Get a book from the library on Yoga, get out and walk- your dog needs it, you figure out what you will commit to and start it and stick to it. It takes 30 days to establish a habit and you need this habit. Come on, get with the program... time to move your booty. Some day you will thank me for it! Find a friend and stick to a program. And by the way walking two miles and stopping at Tim Horton's rather negates the two miles if you are actually trying to slim down, not that you should during treatment but for those of you that are survivors, I am just saying...... Exercise is vital and part of the survivorship plan and you are responsible. Good luck and get moving, and make it a great day! Questions, problems, or complaints... you know where to find me! I see you smiling just a bit, now move it. S
