I think so many of us don't realize what it means to be in the service as it is not a high paying job with great benefits. These people leave their families and homes and put their lives on the line everyday to keep us free. My husband said as he waited for Mike there was a very large group of young men and women leaving for Afghanistan. How do you thank our service men and women and all those in every aspect of our daily lives that do so much for us that we don't see or even know about? I was privileged at one point in the past few years to greet a plane with young men and women coming to a foreign country to serve our country and I thanked them profusely as I do anytime I see someone in uniform, on the street, in the airports, or wherever they may be and that includes policemen and women and firemen and women and so many more. There was a large group of high school students waiting to welcome Mike and all the other service personnel home and that is what America should be about. Honor and Blessing! We are blessed to have those that look out for us and do keep us free. I can chose what I want to eat today and I can say what I want to say and read what I want to read and go where I want to go. Our world is changing ever so fast and so much is dark and depressing and things that seem out of our control but I want to stand up for what we can do and for those that are doing what we can't and making a difference.
My heart is full for all those families and personnel that do just that every day but I also weep inside for those that have lost in the battle be it war or in the streets of the US when violence and terror abounds. I hope and pray and yes, I said pray, and am not ashamed to say it, that we can rebirth our nation to the greatness it once was. I am proud to stand up and sing the STAR SPANGLED BANNER, and to salute the flag and honor those that are on the line for us all. He is home and who knows what tomorrow brings for any of us. I have yet another soon in the Middle East in the private sector and I will be celebrating when he comes home too. Let's hope that we all can make a difference in this world, wherever we are and whatever we can do. This is the day that we have, celebrate and be happy. Thank those you can and share your love and thanks for tolerating my moving off the expected
