My son is home from Italy (Air Force ) and will be home 2 weeks and then off to Idaho. Now realize he has been gone over two years. My husband drove to Baltimore and picked him up but the time was indefinite as he was coming in on a military transport. I fell asleep before they got home which was around one this morning but I had a knock at my bedroom door at 5:30. Mike had been up since 3:30 and was so excited to be home. He raced through the house in daylight commenting on the changes that had taken place, new paint, different wallpaper and such and opened and closed doors to reorient himself to home. He was moving from one room to the next that I couldn't even catch up. He did slow down in the kitchen long enough to get a cup of tea and a brief talk. Now I will say, that my youngest has been busy since day one. One of his mentors actually describe Mike the best, "he has enough personality for two people." He is good looking, vibrant, funny, and just a very lovable guy and extremely busy. I am not sure if I can harness that energy for around the house but I can dream. He has already made plans to travel to Colorado to see some people and stop in Salt Lake City and heaven knows where else. Today is bank work and paperwork and car transfer and all kinds of small details so I came to work. We have a big gathering planned tomorrow and he will be the center of attention. He looks good ( as any female will attest to) and he is growing up, not quite there yet but what can I say neither am I. I so often just talk about breast cancer, but today I just wanted to give you a little insight and some upbeat news as my son rattles through our house and is making plans beyond the time he has before he reports to his next duty station. I know that I have to hit the meat market as his first request is a big steak. Hope that this brought a smile to your face as I am frantically looking for vitamins so I can keep up. Make it a great day! S
