I fell down on the web this past week. It is the culmination of many things and at the top of the leader board is the fact that we did not get the funding we asked for through Komen. We had great plans and it is difficult to see all your hard work passed over so lightly. We stepped up and out in the communities and had so many activities that maybe we were just too good and we hurt ourselves. I don't know, I know that the past 1 1/2 has been totally breast cancer awareness and education in every facet of my life. I have been advised that there will be a position for me to continue and I pray that is true but as I said, I was disappointed and needed time to regroup. We have plans to continue and focus our time and monies to our area and since we haven't killed the beast called breast cancer, my job is not done. Ironically this weekend I have had numerous phone calls and visits from people in the community that asked for help as they or their loved ones are facing cancer and they felt comfortable talking to me. It is humbling and yet reassuring that they would come to me for help. I have people that will come up to me and ask about different things related to cancer as they have a friend or relative across the country somewhere and just needing reassurance and a listening ear. So, although things looked down for a bit and all the cards are not on the table. I will continue to continue and make it a great day.S
