Now what might be causing your sleep problems:
1. Lack of exercise- yup, here it comes at us again, and again, and again... PAY ATTENTION
2. Medical problems can cause insomnia
3. Stress can cause insomnia ( exercise helps reduce stress)
4. There are a million and one reasons including trying to shut off your brain at night.
INTERVENTIONS:
Avoid TV in Bed
Avoid heavy exercise before bed
Avoid heavy meals and or alcohol or caffeine just before bed
Keep a tablet by your bed so if you wake up with a concern, write it down and know that it will be there tomorrow and let it go
If needed, repeat a simple phrase over and over till it puts you to sleep
If tossing and turning for a half hour or more, get up and read a little and go back to bed, possibly in another room
Avoid gaming (yes you all know what I am talking about on your computer or phone) especially just before bed
