Keep in mind that breast cancer when caught early is one of the most treatable diseases and that progress has been enormous and continues to grow in this area. This having been said, there are plenty of reasons to be positive. You also quickly realize there are many questions and decisions that lie ahead and empowered with information and support, those answers will come and you will be able to come to grips with what lies ahead. You do have to own the feelings you are having despite what they may or may not be and it will put stress on all your relationships. I often said that cancer is an emotional roller coaster and I stand by that even now.
It can consume every breathing moment and at times suffocate any other thoughts. Given time and support and caring from those around you, you will become stronger and more optimistic. Be gentle with yourself and those around you. I often hear that cancer brought the family closer. When that apple cart gets upset it takes everyone pulling together to get it back upright and you have to allow those around you to help through the process. Don't allow that cart to remain off course though and do what needs to be done to get back on track.
If I can help, please don't hesitate... you are not alone!
Having a good day!
Sincerely,
Sue
